The president of the Ukrainian Olympic Committee visited the National side training ground and highlighted the growth of the sport
The president of the Ukraine National Olympic Committee and Athletics legend, Sergey Bubka, paid a visit to the Ukraine Beach Soccer National team during their training yesterday at the City of Sports in Kiev.
The Ukrainians are already training hard for the upcoming European Games in Baku 2015, where they will be facing the hosts, Portugal and Switzerland in the group stage, kicking off on Wednesday, 24th of June.
Bubka, who even tried some shots in the sand, highlighted the great growth beach soccer has been experiencing in the last year: “Today, beach soccer is gaining popularity at an incredible pace and scale. The players of our team demonstrated excellent results in the international arena, and I wish they adequately represent his native country in Baku and show their best quality among the elite of European sport”.
Together with the Ukrainian NOC President, the Youth and Sports Minister, Igor Zhdanov, the vice president of the National Olympic Committee, Vladimir Brynzak, the senior vice president of the Football Federation of Ukraine, Vadim Kostyuchenko, and the chairman of the NOC, Oleg Volkov, and the president of the Ukraine Beach Soccer Association, Sergey Kharchenko joined the visit.
