Os Guerreiros do Minho bend Sporting Clube Portugal in the penalty shootout of the final to add a new honour to this dream season
Sporting Clube de Braga reconquered the Portuguese National crown following a thrilling win in the final of the National Championship against giants Sporting Clube Portugal.
The match between Bracarenses and the Leões was fiercely contested all throughout, and the final ended up in the penalty shootout. The goals by Ozu, Nelito, Duarte Vivo and Antonio were paralleled by Braga’s Jordan, Be Martins and Bokinha (2).
Despite Sporting managed a 4-1 advantage in Nazaré, the European champions reacted, to send the game to extra time. The score did no move in the additional three minutes, and the 9-meter roulette was the only way out.
Bokinha missed the first attempt for Braga, but things would improve for the Guerreiros from then on, and Braga would add a new honour to their dream season, thus adding the National throne to the European crown clinched, also in Nazaré, two months ago.
