Sable Dancers from Bern upset current Suzuki League Champions Grasshoppers to clinch the 2013 Swiss Beach Soccer Cup. In a thrilling final, held last Friday in Basel, the black outfitted side used a prolific third period to untie the score and beat Grasshoppers Club Zurich.
Sable Dancers, with Swiss Internationals Angelo Schirinzi, Philip Borer, and Stephan Leu and Tiki Toa players such as Jonathan Torohia, Teva Zaveroni and Raimana Taiarui, among others, overpowered a truly competitive side, boasting the likes of Dejan Stankovic, Mitchell Day, Fernando DDi or Alessandro Spacca.
The final 6-2 got the Bern based side, who is currently occupying the highest place in the Suzuki Swiss League table, earning their first honour, and the team is now aiming for an unforgettable season.
