Dave Richards was amazed by the thrilling action of the sport in the Samsung Beach Soccer Intercontinental Cup held in Dubai
The opening day on the Samsung Beach Soccer Intercontinental Cup was graced with the presence of two very special guests: the FA Premier League Chairman, Dave Richards, and the president of Bolton Wanderers, Phil Gartsyde witnessed the last two matches of the first matchday in the JBR Beach Stadium. Accompanied by Dr Ahmed Al Sharif, General Secretary of the Dubsi Sports Council, and Ali Muttawa, Financial Director, as well as Beach Soccer Worldwide vice president Joan Cusco, Richards and Gartsyde were amused by the flashing pace of the game on the sand, and the spectacular moves it brings on.
The FA Premier League head also assured that the sport has a great potential in the United Kingdom, and pointed that it would be a great idea to develop extensive programs in Beach Soccer formation, both for players and coaches. As Richards himself highlighted the modality has great room to grow on such a huge football-tradition country, and the upcoming years need to mean a significant step forward in its evolution.
