The Polish national beach soccer team travel to Figueira da Foz for two days of friendlies
Over the weekend, Portugal hosted Poland in Figueira da Foz for two days of friendlies ahead of a hectic year of beach soccer competitions.
Portugal won both ties despite clinical finishing from the Polish strikers. The first game finished 7-2 to the hosts, with Belchior (2), Joao Gonçalves (2), Jordan, Léo Martins and André Lourenço.
In the second match, the victory wasn’t quite as comfortable as the first, as Jordan and Joao Gonçalves each hit their third of the two days, contributing to a 5-2 win.
Mario Narciso shared some words after the matches to praise his debutants, the travelling opponents and to look to the season ahead…
“We had the opportunity to observe some players who made their debuts and won, which is always a confidence boost.
The Poles’ excesses of strength and virility created some problems for us, but it was an important test because we will meet opponents with these characteristics in the various competitions that we have ahead of us.”
Both sides will certainly benefit from essential preparation, as some of the biggest tests are just around the corner for Poland and Portugal, including the next edition of the Euro Beach Soccer League, as well as the UEFA qualifiers for the world cup, and of course, the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup 2019 itself.
Soon Portugal will set off to Haikou where fellow European sides, England and Czech Republic, will join them to compete in the CFA Belt and Road Cup 2019. Hosts, China, being the fourth team taking part.
