Portugal not to stop its pace, whereas favourites Switzerland and Spain see their way get harder

This last stage of Day 2 of the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Qualifier has restated that the way to the World Cup is really tough, just in case someone was not aware… You have not to care only about big champions, but also about those teams that have gradually increased their level, and who are absolutely capable of causing more than one headache.

Favourite teams such as Spain and Switzerland have lost their matches today, and the door to get to the next round, and consequently staying in the race for the World Cup tickets, is getting narrower.

Holland bring the surprise

The Netherlands have beaten Spain in the last game of this second date in Bibione, in maybe one of the big surprises of the tournament, if not the biggest. Spaniards felt never comfortable against the Orange courage and efficacy, and this makes their road to World Cup much more difficult than they expected.

Both teams were somehow awaiting the movement of their opponent, trying not to show too much, what resulted in a first period without many clear goal chances. Being the things so, the Orange took advantage of Spain’s lack of attitude to hit twice in mid second period, to get a sweet advantage of 0-2. The Spaniard’s wanted not this period to end without reacting, and Cristian Torres scored the first for “La Roja”.

But Netherlans showed they were set to win the game, and Ax managed to score again, to get the Tulips two up on the score again. The Spaniards reacted quickly, again by means of Cristian Torres, but could go no further. Spain need now to win Greece in tomorrow’s game if they want to be in the next round. So, big emotions are granted in this 3rd day of the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Qualifier.

Skillful Portuguese become too much for Estonia (6-3)

Portugal has secured his first place in Group D table, at least until tomorrow afternoon. The Portuguese have beat Estonia with the solidness of one of the big monsters in Beach Soccer, reinforcing their candidature to get the first place of this FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup that is fielding the best spectacle of this sport over the sand of Bibione’s beach. Again, the Portuguese game has handed the excellence of one of the top beach soccer players all over the world, Madjer.

Together with Portugal’s number 7, Alan Cavalcanti has played the hero role, with three goals that set clear that, may he be a step below Madjer, he is anyway a world level player. And the same can do for Birlo, yet considered one of the team’s key footballers, who was in charge of opening the score when first period was ready to go. Second stage was for Madjer, and the third got the name of Alan.

Estonia’s number 7, Saharov, forced a first equalizer at the beginning of the second period, just before Madjer brought out some of the talent he keeps inside for the 3-1. Arst could make it some tighter before the horn signaled the end of the second period, but after the break came Calvancati’s time. Between the 7th and the 8th minute, Alan hit the Estonian net three times, making it yet impossible for them. Even though, Arst had time to add a new goal to his collection, to somehow mend the final result and leave it 6-3.

No chance for England against Israel

The Pross have had no chance to harm Israel at the first Group D match this afternoon. Although Israel’s dominion has not turned into too many goals, the truth is that the English have been far away from any possibility to win the match.

To spare any doubt out, The Israeli got ahead in the score with a clear 3-0, thanks to the goals by Asolin, Nakash an Izhak. Chad Gould tried to change things at the beginning of the third quarter with the first of his two goals today, but Israel were not to let England grow, and they cut straight any dream could appear in English heads. Two goals by Izhak and Fartok put the score into an unreachable 1-5, what made Gould’s second goal a mere stat.

This result leaves both contenders with three points, looking for fixtures tomorrow to see their possibilities to open the door for next stage. The only thing is that, whereas Israel is facing Estonia, the team awaiting for the Pross is Madjer’s Portugal.

Fruitless 3-goal comeback for Switzerland

Last Euro Beach Soccer League stage Champions Switzerland could not secure their ticket in front of a strong-willed and solid Ukraine, who got ahead in the score and became unreachable for Swiss side.

Igor Borsuk opened the scoreboard for Ukraïne at the very first second of the game, so the beginning could not be worse for the Swiss, who began the match, so to say, down in the score. But that was not the end of Igor Borsuk’s afternoon, since he would get his team further four minutes before. Leu shortened the distance for the Alpine in mid first period, but Zborovskyi and Butko came onto stage to make it 1-4.

Then the time came for the spectacular come back by the Swiss, who turned the score into an equal 4-4 thanks to the goals of Stankovic and Spacca at the end of the second period, with the team star to repeat at the beginning of the third one. But there came Korniychuk and Yevdokimov to the rescue. Last minute goal by Rodrigues gave the last seconds a bit more emotion, but it was not possible for the whites.
