A penalty kick win over Javaban Moradi Khani in the final decided the first champion in the competition
Omid-E-Afghan became the champions of the Afghanistan Independence Day Cup, held in Kabul, following a win over Javaban Moradi Khani from the penalty kick spot.
After the final had reached the end of extra time with a 3-3 in the score, Omid-E-Afghan proved better aimed from the 9-meters distance to land the first edition of the Cup.
Eight teams took part in the competition: champions Omid-E-Afghan, runners-up Javanan Morad Khani, semifinalists Afghan Club and Dawood Zai FC, and Sharifi Sport, Ramaki FC and Ordo FC.
Nader Naderi, Top Scorer, and Mosadeq Alavi, Best goalkeeper of the competition clinched the individual awards.
