Oman clinched the gold medal in the Beach Soccer competition of the GCC Beach Games. The Omani, with a powerful and regular performance beat all their opponents in an uncontestable 5-0 run. Hosts Bahrain tried to keep up with the pace set by Thalib’s lad’s, but the 2-5 against the Omani in the fourth game ended all their options. Even though, they secured the silver prize by making no other concession, followed by another of the Gulf beach soccer powerhouses, UAE.
The Gulf Cooperation Council Beach games involve up to six nations from the Persian Gulf, (Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, UAE, Saudi Arabia and Qatar), which take part in a competition involving six different sports, among which beach soccer is one of the most important. The Games were performed in The Marine Club in Bahrain, during this last week from 10th to 17th of October.
