Argentina edge Peru in three days of beach soccer friendlies

Hosts Peru win one of three friendlies played against Argentina in Lima

This weekend, the Peruvian capital Lima played host to Argentina’s national beach soccer side, as three days of friendlies saw the Argentines claim two of the three matches.

The competition was played between the 25th-27th January, at Playa El Silencio, in the Punta Hermosa area of Lima, Peru.

Day one saw Peru hand a 6-5 defeat to the men in white and blue. However, Hernán Magrini’s men turned things around on the Saturday and Sunday when they beat their hosts 3-1 and then 5-3.

Some of Argentina’s sharp-shooting squad members included Lucas Ponzetti, Federico López Hilaire and Lautaro Benaducci who scored a total of four over the three days.

Billy Velezmoro was the top scorer for the Peruvians.

With such exciting fresh talent bursting onto the beach soccer scene, we can’t wait to see how these teams will perform in the rest of 2019.
