The Samurai Blue took the Asian title to shoot up the ranking and break into the top ten
The Mover of the Month for March is Japan, after they stormed to victory in the AFC Beach Soccer Championship, qualifying for the 2019 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in the process.
Ruy Ramos’ side leapfrogged Spain and Senegal in their ascent to ninth place, while their fellow AFC Championship finalists, UAE, also moved up by two positions into 11th spot.
March also saw the Juegos Suramericanos de Playa take place in Rosario, which meant that Colombia shot up 17 places into 31st with a third-place finish, whilst Argentina and Brazil also gained points.
EL Salvador experienced one of the biggest descents as they dropped 11 places to 35th position, following a period of inactivity.
Towards the lower end of the table, there were some more impressive climbs of the table, as Palatine flew up 62 places after they reached the semi-finals of the Asian Championship.
Kuwait and Guyana also improved by 14 places, while Malaysia shot up by 15 to 60th.
The last few months have been relatively calm, but the calm comes before the storm, as the summer season approaches. Who knows how the ranking will look after all of the events that will take place over the coming months…
