Dear friends,
We promised we would be back, and here we are.
After many months of fighting against a global pandemic that has prevented us doing what we love the most, we are back – the fight is not over, though. 2021 meant the return of most of the international competitions that shape the global beach soccer calendar.
In 2020 and a considerable part of 2021, we were faced with an unprecedented situation that didn’t only affect beach soccer but the entire world of sports, and society as a whole.
But during those hard times, we showed how united the beach soccer family is. Despite the stoppage in events and competitions, beach soccer remained as alive as ever within each and every one one you. We all showed that beach soccerers are a special breed, who kept improving and developing our sport from our homes, offices, gardens etc…
It is precisely this attitude, this feeling of togetherness, this inner strength, that makes us always ready to do what we love most.
This 2021, we managed to host 25 events all around the world, including new ventures like the Women’s Euro Beach Soccer League and the first-ever Euro Beach Soccer League in Moldova. We visited our more traditional homes, and got the chance to enjoy an unforgettable FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup.
So after taking off in 2021, and with the support of so many special people, we can return to business as usual in the coming season. We will work to bolster new projects and look ahead to global beach soccer festivals, including the qualifying stages of the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup 2023 and the World Beach Games 2023.
2022 will also see the return of competitions that could not be hosted in 2021 and 2022, like the World Winners Cup, and will also bring new thrilling events and dream venues that will amplify the beach soccer world map…
So, next season will mean the return to normality: beach soccer normality, which represents continuous growth, both in the number of events and teams, new discoveries, new adventures and ways of living that are uniquely ours.
