Fuego, Barra de Santiago, Sportivo Luqueño and Cruzn dominate as the knockout race intensifies


High-stakes clashes and decisive performances defined Matchday 3 at the Americas Winners Cup, as teams fought to secure vital points and keep their knockout hopes alive in El Salvador.

Group A
Fuego FC win 10-3 against Nopaleros FC
Fuego FC took control early, with Urbina striking twice and Carranza adding another to establish a 3–1 lead in the opening period, while Galaz pulled one back for Nopaleros.

The momentum continued in the second period as Osorio and Ruelas extended the advantage to 5–1.

The final period delivered a goal surge from Fuego, who scored five more through Ambriz’s brace and goals from Valdez, Osorio and Drago. Nopaleros responded via Mis and Galaz, but Fuego’s dominance sealed a convincing 10–3 victory.

Barra de Santiago FP win 8-1 against USAC FP 
The first period remained goalless as both teams cancelled each other out in tight exchanges.

Barra de Santiago broke through immediately in the second period, with Oba opening the scoring before Francisco and Edward extended the lead to 3–0.

The final period belonged entirely to Barra, as Rafael and Oba each netted twice and Edward added another to complete his brace. Arévalo scored the lone goal for USAC, but Barra de Santiago marched to an 8–1 win.

Group B
Samara ADG FP win 7-2 against Bahía FP 
Samara started brightly, building a 3–0 lead through Carballo, Espinoza and Calero before Gonzalez responded for Bahía late in the first period.

Carballo struck again to restore control early in the second, though Zaldana’s finish reduced the deficit to 4–2 heading into the final period.

Samara closed out the match with authority, adding goals from Gamboa, Acosta and Montes to secure a dominant 7–2 victory.

Sportivo Luqueño win 14-0 against Isla San Sebastian
Sportivo Luqueño began strongly as Mathias and Rodrigo’s brace delivered a 3–0 cushion in the opening period.

The second period saw the Paraguayan side stretch their lead even further, with Catarino’s double, plus goals from Medina and Maurichinho, making it 7–0.

Sportivo continued to overwhelm Isla San Sebastian in the third period, adding seven more through Mathias, Medina, Catarina, Rodrigo and Maurichinho to close out a commanding 14–0 triumph.

Group C
Arcos FC win 5-3 against Municipal Poás 
The opening period ended goalless, with both sides locked in a tight battle and unable to break the deadlock.

Municipal Poás struck first in the second period through Erlindo, but Arcos responded sharply. Rodriguez equalised with a superb effort before Batres added another in the final seconds to turn the game around at 2–1.

Early in the third period, Villalobos extended Arcos’ advantage, though Erlindo kept Poás within reach with his second of the match. Arcos, however, restored their cushion through Villalobos and Flores. Erlindo completed his hat-trick in the dying moments, but Arcos held firm to claim a 5–3 win.

Cruzn win 6-0 against FP Riviera Maya
Cruzn started strongly, with Akol and Cruz finding the net to establish a 2–0 lead in the first period.

A tightly contested second period saw both teams unable to convert their chances as Cruzn maintained control.

Riviera Maya conceded an own goal at the start of the third period, opening the door for Cruzn to push further ahead. Akol took full advantage, scoring three times to complete a dominant 6–0 victory.

Group D
Yunis Limón win 3-2 in penalties against CD Apulo Ilopango, after a 3-3 draw
Yunis Limón opened the scoring early through Jose, but Apulo Ilopango responded with goals from Edwin and Rafael to take a 2–1 lead by the end of the first period.

Jamal levelled the match 2–2 midway through the second period, and the score remained unchanged heading into the final twelve minutes.

A minute into the third period, Jamal struck again to briefly restore Yunis Limón’s lead, but Eduardo equalised almost immediately. With extra time producing no breakthrough, Yunis held their nerve in the shootout, converting all three spot-kicks to secure a hard-fought win.

Rancho Viejo FP win 11-4 against Cruzn Academy
Cruzn Academy made a bright start, racing into a 3–0 lead through Saul, Christopher and Therrien, but Rancho responded strongly with goals from Steven and Recino to pull level by the first break.

Christopher put Cruzn ahead again early in the second period, but Rancho took full command with four consecutive goals. Kevin added one, while Emerson completed a superb hat-trick to earn a 7–4 advantage.

Rancho continued their dominance in the final period, adding four more goals as Steven and Eduardo each completed their braces, sealing a commanding 11–4 victory.

Group  E
Garita Palmera BS win 5-4 against SoCal Legacy 
Garita Palmera opened the scoring midway through the first period and maintained their narrow 1–0 lead into the break after controlling much of the play.

Just a minute into the second period, Mateo levelled for SoCal Legacy, but Garita Palmera responded quickly as Puquir and Arana fired in to restore a two-goal cushion at 3–1 heading into the final period.

In the third period, Gabriel added another for Garita Palmera with four minutes left. Though Chávez reduced the deficit, Gabriel struck again moments later. A late push from SoCal Legacy saw Chávez and Ramos score in quick succession, but Garita Palmera held firm to edge a 5–4 victory.

CD Milenio win 5-3 against Honduras BSA
CD Milenio struck early through Filipov, but Honduras BSA responded strongly as X. Garcia and Manuel turned the match around to lead 2–1 in the first period.

Escobar’s brace in the second period swung the advantage back to Milenio, while Mejía kept Honduras within reach, making it 4–3 heading into the decisive third period.

Both teams battled intensely in the final period, but R. Garcia delivered the decisive blow with four minutes left, securing a 5–3 win for CD Milenio.
