Sportivo Luqueño Crowned Americas Winners Cup Champions on Debut!

The Paraguayans lift the title in their first appearance, defeating Barra de Santiago FP


The final day of the tournament in El Salvador saw Sportivo Luqueño etched their name in history by securing the Americas Winners Cup Champions 2025 on Debut. Barra de Santiago fought valiantly but settled for second place, while Cruzn claimed the bronze with a dominant performance.

Sportivo Luqueño defeat Barra de Santiago to take the title
Sportivo Luqueño struck first with Mathías’s goal midway through the opening period, setting the tone for the final match.

The second period saw Catarino and Luraschi extend the Paraguayan lead to 3-0, though Rafael pulled one back for Barra de Santiago before the second break.

Sportivo powered through the third period with Mauricinho’s brace and  Pedro Mano’s strike. Replies from Oba and Victor kept Barra in touch, but the Sportivo held firm for a thrilling 6-4 victory and the Championshiptitle.

3rd/4th place
Cruzn storm to bronze with dominant display
Cruzn stunned Samara in the first period, racing to a 6-0 lead with Akol’s hat-trick, Canale, Eliott’s brace and a Samara’s own goal.

Samara remained shell-shocked as the second period passed without further scoring, Cruzn content to control possession.

The third brought two more for Cruzn – Karlov and Eliott’s hat-trick goal. Rangel grabbed a consolation for Samara, but too little to change the game. Cruzn sealed an emphatic 8-1 victory and the bronze medal.

5th/6th place
Yunis Limón edged Garita Palmera on penalties to finish fifth
The 5th/6th place play-off stayed locked at 0-0 through two periods, with both Yunis Limón and Garita Palmera BS producing strong defences.

Gabriel finally broke the deadlock late in the third for Yunis Limón, only for Joceney to level in the dying seconds and force penalties.

In the shootout, Yunis Limón held their nerve while Garita Palmera faltered, with José, Joceney and Bryan converting to seal a 3-0 victory and 5th place.

7th/8th place 
Rancho Viejo FP rout Fuego FC for 7th place
Rancho Viejo FP dominated from the start in the 7th/8th place match, with Rudy opening the scoring in the first period to set the tone against Fuego FC.

The second period saw Emerson strike twice in quick succession, extending Rancho Viejo’s lead to 3-0 as Fuego struggled to respond.

Steven added two more in the third to complete a commanding 5-0 victory, securing 7th place for Rancho Viejo FP.

Individual Awards
During the awards ceremony in El Salvador, four honours were presented to standout performers. The Fair Play award went to Sportivo Luqueño, the ‘Top Scorer’ award was claimed by Takaaki Oba (Barra de Santiago FP), the ‘Best Goalkeeper’ award went to Pedro Mano (Sportivo Luqueño), and the ‘MVP’ award was handed to Mathias Martinez (Sportivo Luqueño).
