The Carioca takes the reins of the Al Azraq, with first big challenge coming in just months: the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup 2015 AFC Qualifier
The Kuwait Football Association has begun a revolution, targetting to have their beach soccer national team making a significant leap in their international level. Their first move has been securing a top-class coach: Brazilian-born Leo Braga, former Vasco da Gama and Botafogo coach, and right-hand man to Junior Negão in the Brazilian National Team.
With only 33 years, and having clinched prestigious trophies such as the Brazilian Beach Soccer Cup or a third place in the Mundialito de Clubes 2013, the carioca feels the right moment has come to tackle such a big challenge, with the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup 2015 – AFC Qualifiers almost here. The continental battle in Doha will be a very difficult fight for the Kuwaiti, but, at the same time, will clearly define what the Al Azraq are capable of.
The bitter sweet sensations of the Kuwait Beach Soccer National team in the last Asian Beach Games proved two things: the team has many players of a very good level, but, at the same time, the team needs a revolution and a specific training program. If the teams want to target high goals, they need a top-class preparation too. And this is where Braga comes in.
The first weeks of the Brazilian have already been really busy. The team has been doing several training sessions, and is already getting ready for the upcoming challenges.
