The Magyar won the two games (3-1 & 5-3) held in Siófok, in the framework of the Hungarian National Championship
Hungary prevailed over The Netherlands in the two friendly games played last weekend in Siofok, in the southern bank of Lake Balaton. The Orange side did not play at their best level, and the Massimo De Celis coached side took advantage of that to offer their crowd two convincing performances.
Whereas Weisz, Uhgy and Fekete’s hits unbalanced the game on Saturday, with the Dutch only able to counteract through Ajiach, the fixture on Sunday was a bit more leveled. Badalik, Ughy (2), Fekete and Besenyei scored for Hungary and Van Gessel, Ax and Koswal did it for The Netherlands.
Goldwin reedits Hungarian National Championship
That same weekend, the Hungarian National Championship took place, with defending champion Goldwin Pluss retaining title after beating archrival Gyöngyös in the final in Siófok. Goldwin, finishing second in the preliminaries, defeated Bonyhád 6-5 in the semi-final, while Gyöngyös overcame Szász-Therm, the best team in the first stage of the championship, 7 goals to 4.
In the final, Goldwin controlled the game, but had to fight hard for victory. The final 4-3, though, let Goldwin seize the cup for a second consecutive year.
