The Rossoblu claim the 14th edition of the trophy after edging defending champions Viareggio
Happy Car Sambenedettese became the Copaa Italia AON champions, following a very consistent performance against defending rulers Viareggio at the Rive di Traiano Beach Stadium in Terracina.
The Rossoblu claimed their second honour, following their 2014 one, thanks to a solid display against the powerful Viareggio side. The 2016 Euro Winners Cup, Serie A and Coppa Italia winners built a 1-3 advantage in the first half of the game, but Happy Car Samb turned score around, with a spectacular performance by prolific Lucas, with three goals.
Despite Viareggio stepped into third period ahead in the score again, a laudable 3-0 run by the guys from San Benedetto del Tronto ended up securing the Cup.
Pisa and Catania vied for the third place, with the Sicilian side claiming bronze.
In turn, the 2014 and 2015 champions and hosts to the competition, Terracina, ended up in the 5th position after a 4-6 win over Lamezia Terme.
