The Zurich Based side edged Sable Dancers in Jona, thanks to Spacca?s winner with just eight seconds to go
Grasshoppers Club Zürich became the champions of the Suzuki Swiss Beach Soccer League, after edging Sable Dancers in the final of the championship, played this Sunday in Jona. Three goals by Spacca meant the turning point for a team boosted by the likes of Dejan Stankovic, or the World Champions Egor Eremeev and Andriy Bukhlitskiy. The Swiss dynamo bagged the winner with just six seconds to go.
Despite the great performance by National figures Angelo Schirinzi and Philip Borer, together with Brazilian Bruno Malias, the Stankovic-steered side proved terribly solid during the whole match, to seize the win in the last breath of the game.
In the game for the third place, defending champions BSC Scorpions Basel could at least manage the bronze, after seeing themselves out of the ultimate fight due to their defeat to the subsequently champions Grasshoppers. From the penalty kick-spot, Ziegler fired in the winner for the Scorpions to let the previous champions leave Jona with a smile.
