Second day of the FIFA Beach Soccer Workshop, held in Dubai, provided excellent opportunity for the common growth of the sport
The second day at the FIFA Beach Soccer Workshop went well underway today in Dubai, with almost 100 National Football Associations and five FIFA Confederations represented. This last session included a new set of presentations, dealing with the future plans, new TV and Media agreements, legal aspects of the game and laws of the game, as well as it provided the floor for fruitful discussions.
After Joan Cuscó, vice-president of Beach Soccer Worldwide and Managing Director of FIFA Beach Soccer opened the session, Ali Omar Al-Balooshi, on behalf of the Dubai Sports Council SC, took the floor to highlight the importance of such meetings to happen “We want to thank Beach Soccer Worldwide once again for their effort and trust. The Dubai Sports Council reckon Beach Soccer has a huge set of assets to offer, and we are sure that we have a great future together, with lots of successes“, he admitted.
One of the most laudable interventions was in charge of David Dein, one of the fathers of The Premier League, who compared that project with the growth and potential of Beach Soccer. “Beach soccer has a tremendous reach, and its people want to make it become the best show in the world. This is undeniably the path to success. I was immediately amazed with beach soccer when I got to know it, because it has the thrill, the goals, the skills. It is a true spectacle“.
The proposal of the new rules went on today, as well , regarding issues such as the time the goalkeeper has for the goal clearance, the new position of the players in free kicks (cone), the new punishment for infractions such as time violation, substitution infringements, dangerous play, etc. The presentation of the new TV agreements, and the new communication tools were also presented today.
