The Barcelona Beach Soccer Cup 2015 was enormously successful and on the final day of action players took part in a charity event
Ramirio Amarelle, Lucas Medero, Llorenç Gomez, and Nico Alvarado are all participating players in the Barcelona Beach Soccer Cup 2015 event, but they were kind enough to use their Sunday morning for a simple charity event that touched the hearts of the children, parents, players and everyone who was involved in the fun event. The inaugural Barcelona Beach Soccer Cup 2015 began on Friday and went through Sunday, but the best was saved for last as Sunday the 3rd had the finals but more importantly the Beach Soccer Foundation Clinic.
Children were delighted and trained by some of the best players in the world, and they enjoyed it. The kids played and learned, while the parents were able to witness the joy on their children’s faces as well. Before the final matches on Sunday, kids were given the chance to take part in drills with some of the sports’ best players, including Lucas Medero from Argentina and playing for their top club, CA Boca Juniors, who said, ¨I have done these types of events before but this one was very special as it was in the middle of such a big event. I love helping and think it is very smart to continue with these kinds of activities.¨
The importance of such events is not lost on Spanish and global beach soccer legend, Ramiro Amarelle. The captain of FC Barcelona is a constant participant in and holder of such camps, all over Spain and also in sights where his teams have taken him all over the globe felt sentimental after this particular activity, stating, ¨These clinics are fun for everyone and the feeling I get when helping someone is better than scoring a game-winning goal. Not just helping anyone, but assisting these children and all the people we try and help gives me such a powerful sense of warmth and while it is a completely different feeling than a last second victory, it is just as moving, if not more.¨
The Barcelona Beach Soccer Cup 2015 finished with FC Lokomotiv Moscow in first, and CR Flamengo took home second place. FC Barcelona, the favourites took home 3rd place after defeating Sporting Clube de Portugal on the final day of action.
