Final four to contest maiden KBSL title in Nigeria

The first beach soccer kings of Kebbi will be crowned on Friday

The final stage of a new event in the Nigerian state of Kebbi is already underway, as Matchday 1 saw opening wins for Kabawan Kanta BSC and Atiku Bagudu BSC. However, one of them will go without points on Day 2 when the two sides meet.

The maiden edition of the Kebbi Beach Soccer League began in November 2020, where 12 hopefully teams, showcasing the best local beach soccer talent, kicked off the contest. 

Four clubs (Iliyasu Sports BSC, Kabawan Kanta BSC, Atiku Bagudu BSC and Adamu Augie BSC) made it to the final stage of the competition, which will run from 27 – 29 January. 

Darda’i Aliyu (Atiku Bagudu BSC) leads the scoring chart with an incredible 28 goals!

So far, the league featured clubs from across the local Councils of Kebbi State with over 60 matches played and a total of 470 goals being scored so far. 

While observing strict Covid-19 protocols, the tournament has continued to experience a huge following leading to the Super Four Finals showcasing a round robin battle for the league title between the top four clubs in the league table. 

This final leg of the league is scheduled to be shown on Live TV as, according to local media sources, millions of fans are expected to watch the matches across the African continent.
