There are queues of fans waiting to showcase their fanhood and a packed stadium is nothing new to beach soccer. The FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Portugal 2015 begins at 13.00 local time in Espinho and the anticipation is through the roof.
The matches, like the entire course of the tournament, begin with some of the most highly anticipated action that you can only see once every two years. Italy first takes on Costa Rica, then the hosts face Japan, followed by Argentina vs Senegal, and lastly, Switzerland will battle Oman. The opening day will have drama, surprises and plenty of thrilling goals.
