The “Azzurro” goalkeeper wins the Pallone Azzurro 2015 together with PSG star Marco Verratti, Mahuela Giugliano (Women team) and Alex Merlim (Futsal)
Goalkeeper Simone Del Mestre will have another honour to add to a brilliant 2015 season, after “Azzurri” supporters voted him Pallone Azzurro 2015, best player of the National Team, in FIGC’s official site, Vivo Azzurro.
This way, the goalkeeper, currently playing for Domusbet Catania Beach Soccer, rounds a wonderful year in which he collected the Silver Medal in the European Games Baku 2015, the Golden Medal at the Mediterranean Games Pescara 2015 and the fourth place in the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Portugal 2015.
“I am very happy. I feel I won this award thanks to my performances both with the National Team and my club, the Domusbet Catania. I want to dedicate this prize to my girlfriend, Federica, who is always supportive and has been immensely patient. I want to send her a very special hug, also because she will give me the biggest present I can imagine, giving birth to our daughter”.
