The Kiev side beat Mriya 2006 in the final on Sunday to lift the trophy
The Women’s National Championships have come to a conclusion in Ukraine, as winners of the Kiev championship, Dominos Pizza, also claimed the nation’s title.
Dominos beat Mriya 2006 by five goals to three in the final on Sunday. Alternativa NUBiP, who had narrowly missed out to Dominos in the Kiev championships after an extra time goal, finished in third place.
The MVP of the national championships was Miroslava Vipasnyak (Mriya 2006), while the Top Scorer award went to Anastasia Klipachenko (Alternativa NUBiP).
The competition also had a Best Player award which went to Anna Shulga from Dominos Pizza, as well as the youngest player award which went to Olga Dudar (Mriya Sport College) who is just 10 years old. Irina Slavich (Mriya 2006) took home the award for the competition’s best goalkeeper.
As beach soccer comes back to the international stage, it is encouraging to see both men and women returning to the sand, and Ukraine is without doubt one of the strongholds of our sport, with a long-established men’s and a fast-growing women’s game.
