Hosts Paraguay and defending champions Brazil discover their initial opponents for the event in May
Wednesday saw the draw held for the CONMEBOL Copa América de Fútbol Playa, which will be held between Saturday 21 May and Sunday 29 May in Paraguay.
In total, 10 national teams from across the confederation will compete, with the countries split into two groups of five ahead of the competition, to be held at the Estádio Mundialista Los Pynandi.
As hosts, Paraguay were given the number one spot in Group A while defending champions Brazil took the top seed in Group B.
Joining the home nation are Ecuador, Argentina, Chile and Colombia, while Brazil take on Uruguay, Bolivia, Perú and Venezuela in Group B.
The top two teams of each group will advance to the semi finals. The teams finishing in third to fifth will proceed to play in placement matches against the teams finishing in the same position in the other group in the fifth place, the seventh place and the ninth place playoff.
