Brazil begin with comfortable win over Mexico

The final match on Day 2 had Brazil surprise some with their defensive gem to go along with their offensive firepower

Brazil kicked off their FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Portugal 2015™ campaign with a confident 5-1 win over Mexico in Group C.

The Four-time champions had reason to play with a swagger having won the South American qualifiers, but their opponents Mexico also came into the contest as continental champions, so Brazil knew they had to put in a quality performance in Espinho.

Brazil scored three first period goals to send out a strong message to the tournament that they will be true contenders in the competition. All three goals came from different goalscorers — Rodrigo, Bokinha and Tahiti 2013 adidas Golden Ball winner Bruno Xavier.

Their goals paved the way for Brazil to begin their campaign with a confident win, despite a goalless second period. An own goal by Gonzalez and another goal scored by Mauricinho left the Brazilians in a comfortable position to seal a 5-1 victory.
