In another fun-packed clinic players came together with the local community to offer some top beach soccer tips
Three players from the German selection and two from the Spanish, came down to the stadium early today to spend some time on the sand with some member of the local community.
Today it was the chance of local team, FC Hansa Inklusion, to get to know the players and learn some of their skills.
Actually, these guys were no strangers to footballing glory themselves, having twice won the European Handicap Championships, and so the players were able to test them on some more difficult tricks, such as the volley and bicycle kick.
After that, they played a match, where all five international players joined in too. The game was ultimately decided when Chiky, the Spanish number 11, couldn’t resist an overhead shot to seal the win, which each team just had to clap.
After the excitement of the match some of the players from FC Hansa Inklusion stayed behind to talk to us about how the clinic went.
“We had lots of fun today. We came last year so beach soccer is not a completely new for us but we had lots of fun last time so it was good to play again.”
“It’s more difficult than normal football because running is harder and to shoot you need to get the ball off the sand.”
They added that it is great for improving the football they play on grass. “Playing on sand is good because we can improve our ball control and touches when the ball is in the air.”
After the morning’s activities, it’s back to the Euro Beach Soccer League business here in Warnemunde.
Remember that you can watch all the games live right here.
