The Dubai Club stocks up with huge talent and targets the UAE National Beach Soccer League title
The last qualifying stage of the United Arab Emirates National Beach Soccer League is about to get under way, featuring a really exciting team: Al Ahli Club. The Dubai based squad, with their eyes undeniably put on the Cup, have made 4 star signings to bring forward a brilliant performance, and have recruited Portuguese superstar Madjer, compatriot defender Rui Coimbra, Swiss dynamo Stephan Meier and Iranian Hussain. Alongside them, UAE internationals Rashid Ahmed, Ahmed Kart or Abbas Moosa, together with Qambar Mohamed, who will play the player-coach role.
In the team’s presentation yesterday, at the Club’s headquarters in Dubai, Madjer highlighted he is really happy to take part in the country’s first National Beach Soccer League, a competition he points as key for the sport’s development in the area, and that he feels really honoured to be given the chance to do it with Al Ahli, something he sincerely thanks the club’s president, Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum , for.
It is worth remembering that, as per regulations governing the beach soccer league, each club is allowed to sign four foreign professionals with just two of these allowed to be on the field during the course of play.
Al Ahli Club, who have already begun their preparation in Al Mamzar Beach, will jump onto the competition this coming Friday, March 23rd, with their first game of the Dubai qualifying leg of the UAE Beach Soccer League. In this stage, Hatta Club, Al Shabab, Dubai Club, Al Wasl and Al Nasr will also try their best to get one of the two tickets to the League’s Finals, to take place as of April 23rd.
Marcelo Mendes, UAE National coach, is following the whole competition attentively. He assures that “This tournament is much anticipated, everybody is looking forward for it to begin, and all the teams are absolutely determined and training really hard”.
