South American events head to Santos

The Copa America and the Copa Libertadores are to be held on consecutive weeks next month.

Beach soccer is returning to Santos in a big way early in December with the Copa America Futbol Playa and the inaugural Copa Libertadores Futbol Playa both to be held in the Sao Paolo city.

Santos hosted the Supercopa das Nacoes with great success in October and beach soccer fans in the region will once again get to witness top-class action, both in club and country form, over the course of two thrilling weeks.

Between December 6th and 11th, the first Copa Libertadores will take place involving eight of the best club teams from across the CONMEBOL region.

All sides will be national champions and the event promises to showcase the rapid improvement seen in beach soccer at club level across recent events.

After the club sides go head to head over five days, attention then turns to the Copa America and international rivalries.

Ten CONMEBOL nations will be represented at the event between December 13th and the 18th, in what will serve as ideal preparation ahead of the federation’s FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup qualifier early next year.
