The Acapulco Beach Soccer Cup goes to Spain!

USA take the silver medal

The Acapulco Beach Soccer Cup 2024 trophy travels to Spain as Sidi Omar’s team are the new Acapulco Beach Soccer Cup champions. USA finished second after defeating Costa Rica, who closed the podium.

The North Americans had the better start against Costa Rica, going 4-1 up with goals from Quigley, Adler (twice) and Haimes. But the Costa Ricans reacted in the third period with goals from Chavarria and Solis to reopen the clash. Haimes’ second goal calmed things down but nor for long as Arias put the difference between both team back to one goal. USA captain Sunseri Warp would seal the deal with one minute to go, confirming the second place for Morgan Church’s team.

Spain stepped on the sand already knowing they were the champions, but they didn’t ease the game against Mexico and were already 5-0 up at the end of the first period. Paqui Campoy stole the show scoring four goals, thus contributing to Spain’s 10-0 win.

Andrea Mirón won both the MVP and Top Goalcorer award, while Laura Gallego took the best goalkeeper award.
