Each side took three points but BSLA currently top the table on goal difference
The opening matchday of the first ever Women’s Beach Soccer League in the United States took place on 16 January in Huntington Beach, California.
BSLA currently lead the charge on goal difference, but they sit level on points with Beach Soccer LA and SoCal Beaches going into Matchday 2, which will take place next month.
At the end of Matchday 1, all three teams played two games and ended level on three points after winning a game each in normal time.
Ali Hall from Beach Soccer LA leads the Top Scorer chart with 3 goals.
Every game was competitive and decided by just one goal. The league featured many players from the USA National Team such as: Melissa Lowder, Christi Yount, Lauren Leslie and Bethany Haynes, as well as Luisa Meza and Ali Hall.
The event is organised by Brian Easler, founder of Beach Soccer LA, who said, “we want to give a special thanks to the players that travelled for this event as many players drove or flew from Colorado, Arizona, San Diego, Fresno, and San Francisco.”
The event will be spread over three days over as many months: 16 January, 13 February, and 13 March (playoffs) and all matches will be recorded and uploaded on the Beach Soccer LA YouTube channel at the end of each match day.
