AFC Beach Soccer Asian Cup reaches the quarter-finals

Eight nations have progressed from the group stages

Group C
Despite both teams unable to qualify for the quarter-final stage at the AFC Beach Soccer Asian Cup 2025, Indonesia registered their first win of the competition with a 6-4 victory against Afghanistan. Teguh netted the first goal of the match to put the Indonesians in front, before completing his hat-trick in the third and final period, while Pradik, Triwahono and Sentanu contributed goals to ensure Indonesia finished their group stage run on a high.

IR Iran came out on top in the match to decide the winners of Group C, narrowly beating UAE 4-3. With the teams heading into the third period at 2-2, free-kick goals from Mirshekari and Movahed for Iran cancelled out Walid’s final period strike, to confirm victory.

The first Group D match of the day at the Jomtien Beach Arena saw Malaysia win their final group match, defeating Vietnam 3-1. Both teams failed to take the lead in the opening period of the encounter as the Malaysians went ahead in the final few minutes of the second period, courtesy of Hafizal. Faris doubled Malaysia’s lead in the third period, as Hafizal scored the final goal of the match with his second of the day.
