The qualifier for the North and Central American and Caribbean teams will take place between 6 and 8 April 2023
The Estádio Nacional Costa del Sol in El Salvador will be the stage for the ANOC World Beach Games Qualifier El Salvador 2023.
National teams from across North and Central America and the Caribbean will strive to book their place in the competition that is set to take place in Bali, Indonesia, in August 2023.
The men’s qualification tournament will be played in a knock-out format and the women’s competition will consist of a round-robin format.
Two teams will qualify for the men’s tournament, while the women’s competition will also have two contestants coming from the North and Central America and Caribe region.
Joan Cuscó, President of Beach Soccer Worldwide, stated:
“Not only is El Salvador a place of reference for beach soccer in the region, it is also a country that already has the experience of having participated in the 2019 World Beach Games in Qatar as well as having hosted the qualifier that same year too. To return to El Salvador is a guarantee of a successful event in a country with passionate beach soccer fans.”
Yamil Bukele, ad Honorem President of the Instituto Nacional de los Deportes de El Salvador, declared:
“Once again it is an honor for us to work hand in hand with Beach Soccer Worldwide in organizing an international beach soccer event. In addition, we demonstrate, once again, our full support for sport in general, and specifically for this sport, both in our country and in the region.”
In 2019, El Salvador and Mexico qualified for the first edition of the ANOC World Beach Games in Doha, won by Brazil, while Mexico and the United States qualified for the women’s tournament won by Spain.
