Salveson’s poker does it for Norway
The Norwegian beat Malta 8-4

Norway and Malta starred in the first game of the day, the Nordics aiming to build on their win against Sweden, while the Maltese wanted to bounce back from their defeat at the hands of Georgia.

Salveson scored the opener for Norway, but Malta turned the game around through Agius and Gatt, going 2-1 ahead into the second period.

The second period belonged to Norway as Salveson’s second equalised the match, while Paulos and Dyngeland made it 4-2.

But Malta reacted and a brace from Micaleff in 20 seconds put the scoreboard level again. The Norwegian didn’t become discouraged and two goals from Aano as well as Salveson’s third and fourth, clinched the Nordic a 8-4 win.

Georgia prove too much for Sweden
Jalagania packed a hat-trick in 7-2 Georgian win

The Swedes knew they had to win to keep a chance of qualifying to the semi-finals and they had the better start with the opening goal scored by Nevelin.

But their lead lasted only three seconds as Jalagania equalised, and the same Jalagania would put Georgia ahead one minute later.

Nevelin’s second equalised the match at the beginning of the second period. But once again Jalagania froze the joy of the Swedes as he signed his hat-trick to make it 3-2.

Makharadze twice, Tchvritidze and Diakvnishvili lifted Georgia’s count to seven before Slätis scored the final 7-3 that secured a spot for Georgia in the next round.

Third period win for the Lithuanians
Lithuania win 5-1 against Slovakia

The Slovakians had the better start with a goal from Letko five minutes into the game, showing their will to bounce back from Matchday 1 defeat against England.

After a goalless second period, the Lithuanians reacted with less than six minutes to go as Giedratis turned the match around with two goals in two minutes.

Plytnikas made it 3-1 with two minutes left on the clock, and there would still be time for Makutunovičius to net a brace.

English reaction too late against Trampota’s hat-trick
Czechia defeated the Lions 5-3

Face to face were two teams who experienced different outcomes in the previous day, with England coming from a solid 8-3 win, while Czechia had fallen on the penalty shoot-out.

The Czechs took the lead with three minutes to go in the first period through Folejtar, and in the second period Trampota (twice) and Pekárek extended the lead to four goals.

Trampota would sign his hat-trick at the beginning of the thir period before Clarke, Jermy and Temple cut the distance to 5-3, but it was already too late for England.
