The Iranian side bent Oman in the final of the competition, with Japan clinching third in Ordos
Iran became the champions of the Continental Beach Soccer Tournament Ordos on Thursday, following an impressive win over 2015 Asian champions Oman.
Indeed, the two most recent Asian champions faced off in the final of this Asian showdown in Ordos, China, with the Persian side claiming the crown in this maiden edition.
Amir Akhbari was in hand today for the Iranians again, with another brilliant performance that confirmed him as both the top scorer and the most valuable player of the event. Hosseini, to no one’s surprise, was named best goalkeeper of the competition.
Another former Asian champion, Japan, ended up third after a 4-8 win over Vietnam.
The hosts, China, could not bid farewell to this Continental Beach Soccer Tournament they hosted in the northern part of the country with fifth place, as Thailand denied them in the last game.
