Colombia, Argentina and Paraguay all picked up second victories
Group A
Colombia registered their second win at the Copa América Fútbol Playa 2025, winning 5-3 against Ecuador. The Colombians had five different goal scorers in the fixtures as Quintero, Donado, Hernández, Pantoja and Ossa all struck to put their nation in a strong position to secure a place in the final four.
Chile became the first team to qualify for the semi-final stage in Iquique, defeating Uruguay 3-2. Colombia led the match 2-0 after the opening 12 minutes of the game, as Uruguay levelled the scoring heading into the third period of the match. Bacian netted the pivotal goal to take the Chileans up to nine points from their opening three matches of the competition.
Group B
Argentina increased their points tally to six, beating Venezuela 3-2 in Group B. Captain Lucas Ponzetti scored a brace for the Argentinians, finding the opener and the winner.
Paraguay attained their second victory of the Copa América Fútbol Playa 2025 with a 5-3 victory over defending champions Brazil. Brazil’s Rodrigo scored the only goal of the first period to give his country the lead before the Paraguayans turned the match around in the second period of the match, thanks to goals from Carballo, Martínez and Medina. Both teams found the net twice in third period, as Paraguay held on to secure a crucial victory.
