The Verdeamarela lift their fourth cup of the season after beating hosts Paraguay in the Copa Ciudad de Encarnación
The Brazilian Beach Soccer National Team is investing all efforts to recover their status the sooner the better, and the results so far prove them absolutely effective. If 2011 meant their fall from the top of the Beach Soccer World, the Tetracampeao want things back to be as they were the sooner the better, and they have begun this 2012 in an intimidating determined mood. After beating the BSWW Team in the International Challenge held in Sao Paulo, and clinching both the Copa Partida de La Costa and the Copa Mercosur in Argentina a couple of weeks ago, Guga’s side have shipped another trophy back: the Copa Ciudad de Encarnación.
A 4-2 victory against the “Guaraní” merited Brazil the highest place in the table this Sunday. The brilliant performance by goalkeeper Leandro Fanta, with two penalties saved, together with the hits by André, Jorginho and Datinha were decisive for Guga’s side to beat a really combative opponents. Indeed, Brazil were already aware of the Paraguayan’s steel spirit, as, although their loud win in last FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup CONMEBOL Qualifier, last encounters in Argentina had shown the red-and-white hunger.
To make the full-house record in Encarnación, Brazil had beaten the Albiceleste (4-2), with a hat-trick by Fernando DDI, and a Encarnación Team (5-3) on the previous days.
