Group A
Two wins from two for Copenhagen BSC
Copenhagen increased their points tally to six on the second day, winning 9-0 against BS Vion. Bencardino and Baaske fired home two each, as Madsen, Wegeberg, Jorgensen, Schaffer and Dorph got involved in the scoring. A great start for the Danish side at this year’s competition.
ASD Napoli and Copenhagen BSC to battle for top spot
Following their 16-2 victory the day prior, ASD Napoli found success once again their second Group A fixture, defeating Kebbi BSC 7-4. Zurlo struck twice for the Italian club, whilst two goals for Moxedano took him to the top of the scoring charts. The win put them level on points with Copenhagen with six each.
Group B
Delight for Dalian
Dalian continued their winning ways in the second matchday of Group B as they won 10-3 against Naxos BS. Rodrigo netted a hat-trick for the Chinese side, as Ozu, Gong and Battini achieved braces and Liang struck to help Dalian secure yet another victory at the World Winners Cup.
Bokinha shines as Real Münster get off the mark
The final Group B fixture of the day, saw defending champions, Real Münster defeat FC Genappe 7-6. The German side led the match 4-2 after two periods played, however, the Belgian team brought the scores level midway through the period. Nevertheless, Euro Winners Cup top scorer, Bokinha netted himself a rapid hat-trick to make the score 7-4. The match produced some late drama as Lança completed his hat-trick to bring FC Gennape one goal off of their opponents, but it wasn’t enough for the Belgian team.
Group C
Catania FC win again
With both teams winning their opening matches, Canada BSC faced Catania BSC in Group C as the Italian side won the match 8-4. Bobò and Sassari converted two goals each in the encounter for Catania BSC, as their team had achieved the maximum amount of points available from their first two fixtures.
Three points for Falfala KQ BSC
Falfala KQ BSC picked up all three points in their second group fixture, beating Casa Benfica Viseu 9-2. Jabaren found the back of the net four times in the game, taking his tournament total up to six, as Yatim, Moad, Henrique, Omry and Dmais all got their names on the scoresheet. A first victory for the Israeli side, as they are up and running in Group C.
Group D
Recreativo Huelva claim six points
Recreativo Huelva doubled their points in their second Group D fixture, after defeating Riga FC 3-2. Gerlan captured the lead for the Spanish team in the opening, however, the scores were level at 2-2 after two periods played with all to play for in the final period. It was Gerlan who won the match for Recreativo Huelva, completing his brace in the process.
Points on the board for Napoli Patron BSC
Napoli Patron BSC registered their first victory at the World Winners Cup, as they defeated Newteam Brussels 4-0. The Greek side struck in all three periods of the match, as Otero, Georgikopoulos, Dimas and Waleed Beshr all fired home in the victory. A big victory for Napoli Patron BSC in their hopes of advancing into the round of 16.
Group E
Maximum points for Mazarrón
To get Group E proceedings underway on the second day of action, Mazarrón continued their winning form as they defeated Bolgona BS 10-3. D’Amico scored the opening goal of the fixture, as the Italian team led 1-0 after 12 minutes played in Alghero. However, the tides turned in the second period as the Spanish side took a 6-2 lead into the final period of play. Mazarrón confirmed their victory in the third, as they netted another three goals to increase their points tally to six.
Consecutive wins for BSC Vybor
The second Group E match of the day saw BSC Vybor defeat Marseille BT 5-2. Kasatkin and Dubovyk both secured braces in the fixture for the Ukrainian outfit, as their team moved up to six points in the group stage of the World Winners Cup, as look to battle Mazzarón for first place in the group.
Group F
Barra de Santiago prevail in 18-goal thriller
Group F produced one of the most entertaining fixtures so far, as Barra de Santiago won 11-7 against Pafos FC. The Cypriot side were winning the match 2-0 as the first period came to a close and 4-3 after two periods played. Nevertheless, the Salvadoran team turned up the pressure in the final period as they struck seven times with Velasquez and Urbina completing vital hat-tricks.
The result moved Barra de Santiago up to six points, whilst Pafos FC await their first victory.
Two triumphs on the bounce for BSC Artur Music
Bringing Group F action to a close on the second day was a fixture between BSC Artur Music and Cali BSC, in which BSC Artur Music came out 7-6 winners. The Ukrainian side trailed after one period had been played, but a Borsuk brace, alongside strikes from Voitenko, Levchenko, Nerush, Lystopad and Tymoshenko gave their side another huge three points in the group phase.
These results mean that ASD Napoli, Copenhagen BSC, Mazzarón, BSC Vybor, Barra de Santiago and BSC Artur Music have all qualified for the round of 16.
