Round of 16
Mazarrón make the last eight
Mazarrón win 8-1 against Kebbi BSC.

Mazarrón faced Kebbi BSC, as they battled for the first place available in the quarter-finals.

Adri Sanchez scored the only goal of the first period, as the Spanish side led 1-0 after 12 minutes played, as they found the back of the net five more times in the second phase of play through Suli Batis, Chiky Ardil, Bernardo, Jose Oliver and Pablo Lopez.

Chiky Ardil completed his brace in the last period, whilst Cánovas netted the eighth and Nazarov pulled one back for the Nigerian club.

Real Münster advance
Real Münster defeat Napoli Patron BSC 5-4.

Real Münster’s hopes of a World Winners Cup title defence remained alive, as they won 5-4 against Greek side, Napoli Patron BSC. Goals from Metzler, Hodel, Körner, Zé Lucas as well as two Napoli Patron BSC own goals ensured qualification into the quarter-finals of the competition.

The victory sees the German side face Mazarrón in the quarter-finals to decide who makes their way into the final four sides in the competition.

Pafos FC complete dramatic comeback
Pafos FC defeat Dalian 5-4.

Chinese side, Dalian took on Cypriot team, Pafos FC, with a place for quarter-finals up for grabs. 

Dalian found the net three times in the opening period through a Liu Y S brace and a strike from Ozu, however, they did lose their clean sheet in the period, as Bruno Xavier found the net for the team from Cyprus.

Heading into the third and final period, Dalian remained in the lead but only by one goal, with Xavier finding his second of the encounter, and Alisson got his name in the scoresheet.

The Cypriot team completed a fantastic comeback in the final phase of play, as Alisson completed his brace and Charalambous scored the winner.

An incredible moment for Pafos FC, moving on in spectacular fashion.

Recreativo Huelva book their place
Recreativo Huelva win 6-5 against Falfala KQ BSC.

With both teams knowing a victory would see them face Pafos FC in the quarter-finals, Recreativo Huelva and Falfala KQ BSC took to the sand.

A Kuman brace, alongside goals from Gerlan and Casano meant that the Spanish team took a 4-2 lead into the second period of the encounter.

Two goals were scored in the second period and they were divided between both sides. Dmais scored the first of the period, for Falfala KQ BSC to close the gap on their opponents, but Gerlan restored the two-goal advantage for Recreativo Huelva.

Despite scoring two goals in the final period, it wasn’t enough to get back into the match for the Israeli side as Brian’s goal separated the sides.

Barra de Santiago qualify in extra-time
Barra de Santiago beat Copenhagen BSC 6-5.

The opening period saw goals at both ends, as a Velasquez double and strikes from Osorio and Urbina had the Salvadoran team 4-3 up.

One goal separated the teams going into the final period too, with Wegeberg scoring for the Danish team and Velasquez completing his hat-trick.

Bencardino took the match to extra-time, after scoring in the final period for Copenhagen BSC, but Velasquez took centre stage once again as he found his fourth of the match to take his team into the quarter-finals.

BSC Artur Music win 6-4 against BSC Vybor.

Ukrainian sides, BSC Artur Music and BSC Vybor played to decide who would make the last eight, as BSC Artur Music claimed a 6-4 victory in the match.

Scores were level at 1-1 after one period played, as BSC Artur Music led 4-3 after two periods played in Alghero, with Potapov, Victor Hugo and Voitenko all finding the mark.

BSC Artur Music saw out their victory in the final period, as Pashko and Lystopad found the target, whilst Dubovyk scored one for BSC Vybor.

ASD Napoli qualify with huge victory
ASD Napoli beat Marseille BT 15-1.

ASD Napoli produced a brilliant round of 16 performance, as they won 15-1 to secure their place in the quarter-finals.

Lucao, Palmacci and Zurlo all scored hat-tricks in the encounter against the French team, as Varrel scored the only goal of the match for Marseille BT.

A victory for ASD Napoli confirmed their place in the last eight, with a fixture against Barra de Santiago in the next stage.

Penalties decide the fate of Catania FC and Riga FC
Riga FC defeat Catania FC 4-2 on penalties after a 4-4 draw in the match.

The final round of 16 match saw Riga FC face Catania FC in Alghero, with just one quarter-final place remaining.

The Latvian side were 3-2 ahead with one period played, with goals from Rubenis, Igor Ricardo and Rafinha making the difference, but Datinha found the equaliser in the second phase of play to make things all square.

Both sides hit the back of the net in the third, meaning extra-time and eventually penalties. The Latvian team came out on top in the shootout, taking the final quarter-finals place.

Play-offs – 17th-24th place
17th-18th place play-off
Canada BSC won 6-4 against FC Genappe, finishing 17th in this year’s competition.

19th-20th place play-off
Cali BSC confirmed a 19th place finish at the World Winners Cup, after beating Newteam Brussels 9-5.

21st-22nd place play-off
The match to decide 21st and 22nd place saw Bologna BS beat Naxos BT 5-2 in Alghero.

23rd-24th place play-off
BS Vion won 5-4 against Casa Benfica Viseu in extra-time to finish in 23rd place in the competition, whilst their Portuguese opponents finished 24th.
