Portugueses and Russians to fight for cup

The match between Germany and Czech Republic will determine which of them will get into the EBSL Promotion Final

Czechs work hard victory against Andorra

It cannot be said that Andorra, despite their low position in the European Rank and their short record of victories, had not given enough signs in the last months that they were becoming able to cause some upset. Today, they were really close to, as they made Czech Republic suffer for the three points in this second matchday of the Euro Beach soccer League stage in Berlin. With their usual enthusiastic display, the Pyrenean got a surprising advantage when Codina managed the 0-1. And this surprise would get even bigger when Ayala headed in a corner kick to set all Czech Alarms with the 0-2 they could keep until the end of the first break.

Czech Republic stepped back on the road rather early, with just one minute played at the second period, but that first hit was not followed by a second. At least, it was not until the last minutes of that second leg, when Kovarik finally equalized the score for the Czechs. Peterick’s header meant the 3-2 in the last minutes for the Central European, who had finally managed to turn the score around.

Andorra still had another bullet to shot, though, and Eric leveled things back for the Pyrenean, fielding that they had not got that long for nothing. But, with three minutes to go, Peterik got his double for his team to clinch the points. Tomorrow, the Czechs will battle hosts Germany for a place into the final.

Goals: 0-1: Codina, min. 5 (1); 0-2: Ayala, min. 1 (1); 1-2: Lukic, min. 10 (2) ; 2-2 : Kovarik, min. 2 (2); 3-2: Peterick, min. 0 (2); 3-3: Eric, min. 7 (3); 4-3: Peterik, min.

Portugal will fight for the Cup

Portugal finally managed to stay on top of the table after a brilliant victory over Romania. The Carpathians made things really difficult and even managed to get ahead in the score by mid third period, but the Portuguese magic prevailed to ensure Ze Miguel’s side will be fighting for their first cup of the season tomorrow. At  16:30, by the O2 World, we will finally get to know the winner of this Division A stage of the Euro Beach Soccer League Berlin 2011.

The first stages of the game set clear that Belchior was still in the hitter mood, and secured the Portuguese advantage twice. First, with the game’s opener, and, afterwards, with the 2-1 after Tanases’s equializer. Romania, though, is a hard nut to crack, and voiced their power by turning the score around, thanks to Maci’s and Boata’s hits, to make it 2-3 by mid last period.

Things got dangerous for current Champions, but just one minute afterwards, Madjer came to the rescue and placed the 3-3 on, with a free kick. The captain’s hit began a three goal run by the Lusitanian that unleveled things up to the 5-3, with Durval and Bruno Novo adding his name to the chart.  The job was almost done by title-holders, and the latter hit by Croi could do nothing more than just disturbing their last seconds to their sixth points, and their chance to fight for the cup.

Goals: 1-0: Belchior, min. 10 (1); 1-1: Tanase, min. 3 (1); 2-1: Belchior, min. 11 (2); 2-2: Maci, min. 4 (2); 2-3: Boata, min. 7 (3); 3-3: Madjer, min.6 (3); 4-3: Durval, min. 3 (3); 5-3: Bruno Novo, min. 1 (3); 5-4: Croi, min. 0 (3).

Russia runs over Turkey to head Division A

Turkey suffered a bitter farewell to their Euro Beach Soccer League this season to the hands of Russia, who heads the table in Berlin awaiting for the decisive match tomorrow against Portugal. Likhachev’s lads turned into the worst Ottoman nightmare and ran over their opponent mercilessly until the final whistle. It was not only a match against Turkey for the Russians, it was, at the same time, the beginning of the match against Portugal for the Cup tomorrow…

Right from the beginning, Russia punched the Turkish resistance, which lasted seven minutes to fade. After Makarov opened the door, Ermemev, Shaykov, Shishin and Paporotnyy followed his footsteps to finish the game before the end of the second period. Ayhan replied from the 9 meter spot, but Leonov, with a brilliant volley, and Makarov made it 7-1 again. Way too much for Onur’s last effort.

Goals: 1-0: Makarov, min. 4 (1); 2-0: Eremeev, min. 3 (1); 3-0:Shaykov, min. 10 (2); 4-0: Shishin, min. 8 (2); 5-0: Paporotnyy, min. 0 (2); 5-1: Ayhan, min.0 (2); 6-1: Leonov, min. 2 (3); 7-1: Makarov, min. 1 (3); 7-2: Onur, min. 0 (3)
