Marcelo Mendes, UAE National, coach believes that the differences with the top sides tend to decrease and matches grow tougher
A really experienced voice when it comes to Beach Soccer, UAE National Coach Marcelo Mendes, assured last weekend that it is going to be more and more difficult for teams such as Russia, Brazil Portugal and so on to maintain their status as the sport’s rulers. For the former Brazil, Thailand, Portugal, Uruguay and South Africa coach, “the teams need to get refreshed, to get new elements, to keep strong”.
The balance between all the teams in the Beach Soccer Panorama is getting bigger and bigger every day, since many countries are investing lots of efforts and experiencing huge improvements in Beach Soccer, according to the Brazilian-born coach: “Today, everything is much more leveled. There are some National Teams who are doing a great job, such as Portugal or Argentina”.
This is why he thinks, when talking about Brazil, another squad he knows very well, that the Verdeamarela needs to move quickly not to lose their traditional status on the san: “As I see it, the team have come into a kind of standstill in their evolution, and they need to fight against it. They need to be refreshed, to be renovated”.
