After an exciting season and one last match, the UAE Beach Soccer league table is finalized and the heralded awards have been delivered
The final match of the league season did not disappoint. The 1st and 2nd place teams had already been determined during the previous week but that did not mean there would be any slippage in action. Al Nasr had already secured their position as runner-up after a grueling loss to the champions, Al Ahli, last week.
This week’s match was just as exciting and for Al Nasr there was no hangover from the loss the week before. Al Wasl was in a tight battle all season with Al Hamreya and it came down to the last game to determine 3rd and 4th place. Al Hamreya had already played their final match so if Al Wasl won the match, they would have earned 3rd.
UAE has an extremely competitive top-flight beach soccer league and the final match was a microcosm of the entire season. The game was close, with offense, defense, and was decided by the slimmest of margins. Ali Hassan Karim scored a hat trick for Al Nasr as they narrowly edged by Al Wasl, despite a two goal performance from their own Leon Gomez. The final score was Al Nasr 5-4 Al Wasl.
End of the season awards are always exciting and there is bound to be some intrigue and surprise. This season ended with the following awards being doled out:
Top Scorer: Saeed Salah Naji (Al Hamreya)
Best Goal Keeper: Humaid Jamal (Al Nasr)
MVP: Madjer (Al Ahli)
Here is a look at the final standings as well:
Winner: Al Ahli
Runner-up: Al Nasr
3rd: Al Hamreya
4th Al Wasl
