Senegal defeat Egypt to reach semi-finals

The Beach Soccer AFCON names its first semi-finalists as Morocco and Uganda take first wins

Defending champions Senegal are the first team at the Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations to reach the final four after beating Egypt on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Uganda recovered from their defeat to Senegal to beat Madagascar and Morocco kicked off their campaign with a tight victory over the hosts Mozambique.

Angelo Schirinzi’s Uganda recovered from their heavy defeat to the African champions Senegal to down the 2015 winners of the continental crown, Madagascar. The island nation built a 3-1 lead, but out of nowhere, the Sand Cranes rose from the ashes to put five past their Group B rivals to win the match 6-3, keeping hopes of a place in the semi-finals alive.

The Atlas Lions turned the tie around to win the match 3-1 and go level with their hosts on points in Group A.
