The hosts lead the group while Turks & Caicos take first victory in the women’s category
Matchday 2 of the Bahamas Beach Soccer Cup saw a second win for the hosts’ men, while Turks & Caicos bag first points in Nassau.
The hosts took on Costa Rica in their second match, and after both had claimed three points on Day 1, it was a tight encounter. Bahamas came out on top though, edging the tie 6-4 thanks to goals from Lesly and Wood in the final period, however Costa Rica’s Greivin leads the scoring with a total of five goal.
Bahamas lead the group as the only team yet to lose in Nassau.
Colombia bounced back from their defeat against Costa Rica in their opening match to net six times against Trinidad & Tobago without reply. On Sunday, they will take on the hosts as three teams still remain in the running for the 2022 title.
The Bahamas women fell to Turks & Caicos in the women’s category by three goals to two. Turks & Caicos lost their opening match to Trinidad & Tobago, but took the lead against their hosts on Saturday.
Late goals from Angel and Janeka were not enough to rescue the points for Bahamas, who will go up against Trinidad & Tobago on Sunday.
The Bahamas Beach Soccer Cup is being played at the 2017 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup stadium in Nassau between 21 and 23 October.
