The 11 teams have arrived in Chisinau to fight for the 7 places at the EBSL Promotion Final
There is just one day to go until the action kicks off in Moldovan capital Chisinau, where a state-of-the-art stadium awaits Europe’s Division B teams.
A total of 11 teams, organised into three groups, will battle for the seven places at the Promotion Final, which will be held in Portugal in September. There, they will have the chance to fight for promotion into the continent’s elite league.
The groups are organised as follows:
Group A
– Moldova
– Bulgaria
– Slovakia
Group B
– Greece
– Kazakhstan
– Lithuania
– Sweden
Group C
– Czech Republic
– Romania
– Estonia
– Norway
Neighbouring Romania will take on Estonia in the competition’s first match on Wednesday, while the hosts’ first test will come against Slovakia in the day’s final match at 18:30h local time.
The nations will play three days in round robin matches, then two days of playoffs, and the winners of the Regular Stage will be decided on Sunday.

In a press conference held this morning, Tournament Director Alexandru Golban commented that hosting this competition was, “a dream for us. After so many years of working for it, now we see that a top-level event will happen in our country. It was with this goal we built this stadium.
Our objective is to win the competition. This is our goal. The team has been training hard, preparing very well with various friendlies, and we have great expectations for this tournament.”
