The beach soccer youth tournament will kick off on 15 June 2022

The Portuguese government has recognised the public interest of the Madjer Youth Beach Soccer Cup 2022 in Figueira da Foz, an essential event in the development of the sport worldwide.

This recognition of public interest was published in Diário da Republica, in an order signed by the Secretary of State for Youth and Sports, João Paulo Rebelo.

The fourth edition of this event will take place from the 15 to 17 June, in Buarcos, in the municipality of Figueira da Foz, the hosts of the 2021 Euro Beach Soccer League Superfinal.

It is aimed at male and female athletes between the ages of 14 and 18. Teams from Portugal, Spain, Italy, Poland, Germany, England, USA and El Salvador have participated in previous editions.

The document published states that, “During the three days, judging by previous editions, it is expected that more than 300 young athletes and a total of approximately 500 agents directly involved in its realisation, will be present at the event, not including the thousands of spectators that are estimated to attend to the games.”

According to the order from the Secretary of State for Youth and Sport, this initiative brings together “the most relevant agents at the international level of this sport that is on the rise” and which was born with the aim of “providing young athletes from all over world, with the opportunity to learn from each other and, above all, to develop their sporting careers.”
