Portuguese Cup about to kick off in Nazaré

Can SC Braga lift the trophy to complete a perfect season?

Friday sees the quarter-finals of the Portuguese Cup begin as SC Braga look to claim their fourth trophy of the season.

The draw for the quarter-finals and semi-finals of the Portuguese Beach Soccer Cup took place on Thursday.

The matches will be played on the 20 (quarter-finals), 21 (semi-finals) and 22 (final) September, at Estádio do Viveiro, in Nazaré, just a week after the Guerreiros do Minho claimed their third successive Portuguese league.

Braga’s first match on their cup-retention campaign sees them take on Biblioteca Inst. Recreio, while CF Chelas meet GR Amigos da Paz, Lisbon giants Sporting CP take on CF Os Belenenses and local Nazaré side, ACD Sótão are set to face Casa Benfica Loures.

The winners of Friday’s quarter-finals will then play the semi-finals on Saturday and Sunday will see the 2019 winners of the cup crowned.

Can anyone get in the way of the rampaging Guerreiros?
