Portugal win 5-4 against Ukraine.
Portugal looked to take home the points once again on the second day of action in San Salvador, as their opponents Ukraine were seeking their first victory at this year’s competition after a defeat on penalties against El Salvador on the opening day.
It was the Portuguese side who led the match after one period with goals coming courtesy of Brilhante and Bê Martins, as Korniichuk scored Ukraine’s first of the game. Both sides scored three each across the final two periods, with Bê Martins securing a hat-trick in the process and Portugal taking maximum points from their opening two matches.
El Salvador 3-2 on penalties against Venezuela, after a 1-1 draw in the match.
Hosts El Salvador looked to add to to the one point they gained in their opening El Salvador Beach Soccer Cup match, with Venezuela looking to bounce back from their narrow defeat against Portugal.
Following a goalless first period, it was the hosts to strike first through Castro, in the second period, as Ramos netted Venezuela’s equaliser in the third period to take the match to extra-time. The teams couldn’t be separated during the additional three minute period, as El Salvador ensured a second win of the competition with a 3-2 on penalties.
