The Georgian beach soccer league came to an end with Dinamo Batumi claiming a fifth success
Dinamo Batumi are, once more, the beach soccer champions of Georgia. The now five-time winners will compete, as they did last year, in the European championships in 2019.
The league was decided after two stages, the first being held in August and the second in July. The championship was held in the city of Batumi, and many of the eight teams who took part, were based locally.
The eight teams who participated were: Dinamo Batumi, BSU Batumi, Kakheti Telavi, Kolkheti Foti, Tbilisi UG, Akademia Batumi, Senaki Quji and Martve Kutaisi.
The final was actually a local derby, as Dinamo Batumi took on city rivals, BSU Batumi, seeing them off by seven goals to two.
In the women’s league it was the also the female Dinamo Batumi team who claimed the crown, fending off five other rivals to lift the trophy.
