BS Slavia Praha seize Czech crown

Beach soccer has a new champion in Czech Republic – BS Slavia Praha!

The beach soccer throne was claimed by BS Slavia Praha in a 3-6 victory over last year’s winners, BS Bohemians 1905, in the final.

The league final was played on 14 July and it was the defending champions who took the lead initially through a Zdenek Slama strike.

But Slavia Praha came back in the second and third periods, and ended up winning the game by six goals to three, thanks to braces from Czech national team players Vales (winner the league’s top scorer award with 17 goals) and Trampota (league MVP).

Jan Zahorsky scored another and an unlucky own goal meant that the Bohemians’ reign at the top was over.

There was a small consolation for the dethroned kings, as BS Bohemians’ shot-stopper Patrik Malina won the best goalkeeper trophy.

In the third-place play-off, two more Prague-based clubs, BS Ladronka Praha and BS Dukla Praha, met to contest the bronze, where BS Ladronka breezed past their city rivals by seven goals to two.
