BS Egmond and HTC Beach Soccer won their Eredivisie competitions this weekend.
BS Egmond and HTC Beach Soccer are the new Dutch champions after prevailing in their respective Eredivisie competitions at the weekend.
Both the men’s and women’s events were held in Scheveningen, close to The Hague across July 22nd and 23rd, with the best players from across the Netherlands turning out for the country’s premier beach soccer club competition.
The men’s event saw Egmond claim their third national title – and their first since 2013 – after getting past Pelikaan BS Zwolle 10-7 in the semis while BS Rotterdam were 5-4 winners against defending champions Betuwe BS in the final four.
Egmond then ensured their third success with an impressive comeback victory against Rotterdam in the final, the holders now ensured a place at the Euro Winners Cup in 2018 after battling back from 4-0 down to win 6-5.
HTC Beach Soccer – who have featured at both editions of the Women’s Euro Winners Cup to date – will head to the event as Dutch champions next year following Sunday’s 5-4 final win against KTP Nieuw Roden.
After two thrilling days of action at The Hague Beach Stadium, the sport continues to grow apace in the Netherlands at both club and country level.
